Dec. 18th, 2008 04:44 pmBart was not planning to go through his door with Croup and Vandemar about- at least until he was sure Security was on it- but the unstoppable force of narrative causality demanded that he go back through to pick up something left in Hawaii. Accidental door-shutting ensued, along with inability to get back to Milliways.
And, sensing the best possible moment to strike, a stomach bug happened.*
He wasn’t actually in his world for particularly long time, just long enough to give up on getting back through his door and instead hole up in the hotel room with blankets and the TV for company.
In retrospect, flipping to the news station might not have been the best of ideas, seeing as how there was a report on a robbery in progress and it just seemed like this great idea to go stop it.
Right then!
Nausea aside!
You can guess how the rest goes.
“…And then he what?”
“He just ralphed right at us! Hard! He yakked all over us! It was GROSS!”
“And there you have it: quite possibly the most unusual case of vigilanteism since the Green Flowerpot of ’56. This is Candice Walters, signing out.”
Not one of his more shining moments.
After which, the cosmos, possibly having had its fun by now, gives him back his Door to Milliways upon his return to his room.
Thank goodness.
*Technically, this particular stomach bug was in the makings for a while, but a certain ill-advised romp in the snow rather hastened it on. Kids these days.
