Playtime this night, ladies and gentlemen, consists of: a convenience store, containing many Items of Interest (such as, to pull an example at random, an Icee machine); a speedster; the girl behind the counter; the boy with the stocking on his head; and a several dozen bouncy balls, of various colors and sizes.
10:07:04 PM: The speedster ducks into the convenience store to get out of the rain and possibly steal a smoothie. The girl behind the counter yawns and observes that the clock is running faster than her watch, but still not fast enough. The boy with the stocking on his head isn’t here yet.
10:07:06 PM: The speedster turns for the door and observes the boy with the stocking on his head enter, and thinks maybe he’ll stick around. The speedster is rewarded for his forward planning when the boy with the stocking on his face pulls out a gun and demands money.
10:07:10 PM: The speedster despairs of humanity.
10:07:59 PM: And then sidles up to the boy with the stocking on his head to observe that he’s breathing kinda funny and might want to pull the stocking off.
Just a suggestion.
10:08:00 PM: The boy with the stocking on his head probably should have considered washing his stocking before putting it on his head. Regardless, the gun is re-aimed at the speedster. The girl behind the counter digs out a large bat and attempts to hit the boy with the stocking with it. It misses, and hits a display of rubber balls instead.
10:08:01 PM: The speedster, in the act of speeding, trips on rubber balls.
Whoops.
10:08:21 PM: The speedster comes to just in time to watch that the girl behind the counter lunge for the boy with the stocking on his head and place him in an impressive choke hold. Unfortunately, the gun goes off in the process, and a stream of water knocks a cup of Icee onto the Speedster’s head..
10:10:00 PM: Sirens begin to sound; the girl from behind the counter begins to explain to the boy with the stocking on his head that this is why she broke up with him; the speedster, sticky and completely unaware that he is now sporting a backwards ‘FRESH!!’ on his forehead in lovely bruise colors, decides that the situation is pretty much resolved, and he can leave now.
10:10:01 PM: Speedster steps into a bar.
