Ten Facts Meme! (or, guess what I brought back from vacation!) + shameless begging

1. When Bart was six, he got in epic trouble with his parents for stuffing turnips into his pockets to get out of eating them. To this day, he’ll eat pretty much anything you put in front of him, and then some but not turnips.

2. Despite his parents’ rocky relationship with his paternal grandparents, there were a few attempts to mend broken bridges when he was seven. Mostly what he remembers from this time is uncomfortable chatter and being forced to wear a tie.

3. After that period, he was sent to his grandparents’ for a dinner at least once a year. Just him, not his parents. He’s still not sure why.

4. Bart didn’t develop an interest in drawing until after the accident and subsequent move. It began with doodles and cartoons in his schoolbooks instead of notes and moved on from there.

5. Despite this, he still aced every test. ...Because he cheated. His teachers thought there was a draft in the room.

6. Only one of his teachers ever caught on that something was up. Instead of lecturing him like he expected, she just talked to him about his home life and recommended art classes. He found out later that she had paid a visit to his parents to talk about his problems at school; that chat catalyzed the fight that led to him being kicked out.

7. There’s a small nick in his skin up by his throat from sometime during his first six months on the street. He refuses to acknowledge its existence.

8. When Bart started high school again, official Justice League channels tended to be mysteriously used for homework help. As long as it didn’t put anyone in danger, Ollie officially didn’t know anything about it.

9. He’s not stupid. Even with hero work, he blew through those last years of high school fast.

10. He’s very seriously considering a civilian career as a cartoonist/illustrator. It’ll be awesome.

...Also, Bart's userpic extension went away while I was gone.

= my feelings on the matter.

We call that canon, actually.

[identity profile] blinkandyoumiss.livejournal.com 2009-08-26 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome.

Also, cause I'm lazy about signing in to my own account (and because Joann's opinion might help):

Do ya'll know anyone who'd be interested in taking up Chloe in Mways? I'm still on the edge here and just do not know what to do.

I don't, no. I'm sure I could find someone if it were absolutely necessary, but I don't think it would be if you decide to let her go and I'd rather if someone else decided to play her because they want to, not because it fills a gap or something.

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Nah. It's more of a situation in which if I do let her go, I'd love to have someone wanting to play her. Because then I'd get to interact with her (y'know, with Jenny and all) and stuff.

And I wouldn't want to leave ya'll hanging with no Chloe in the game. Even if I don't play her much.

Well, it pretty much looks like I'm canon splitting anyway, so the choice really is up to you.

[identity profile] takesitapart.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Canon splitting or not, I just don't really want to leave ya'll hanging.

I was just curious. You've become way more active in the fandom than me and it would've definitely helped a decision on my behalf because I'm so crappy at making decisions like this. So was just asking.

I know. But to be honest, you don't have to worry about that. I understand where you're coming from in regard to your lack of enthusiasm for playing her and I'm a very adaptable player; I can roll with having a Chloe in bar - yours or otherwise - or not at all. I really just want you to be okay with what's decided. Seriously.

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Thanks.

I just think my biggest problem is that I'm afraid that once I do drop her, I'm suddenly going to regret it and want her back. Like, this period of uninspiration will go away or something even if it hasn't yet.

Yeah, and I can't alleviate that. :)

Think of it this way: Have you watched S8? Are you planning to watch S9? If canon inspires you, that's something to look for. If not, then it might be time to let her go Milliways-wise.

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
See, I don't know. If something awesome happens S9 and someone mentions it to me, I can see myself picking up without bothering with S8. It's kinda what happened with SW lately.

Too many I don't knows at the moment, really.

So far? It's All Clois, All the Time. Chloe's supposed to have some big twist, but I have no idea what it is.

*snugs*

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
See, Clois doesn't necessarily bother me that much because, y'know, I grew up with Lois&Clark episodes and all that. I think it was just more a frustration with Chloe's storyline in general and not really enjoying that which got to me.

But they could just as easily fix that and make it into something that'll intrigue me and make me want to play again. It's Smallville. Need we mention the deal with the devil scenario a few seasons back.

*nods* They lost a few Chloe supporters last year. I know I got frustrated with her.

Honestly, there isn't much info on Chloe for S9. It seems she's taking a backseat to let Lois be more in the spotlight now that she's going to be in more episodes. All we really know for Chloe is that she's Watchtower full time, running her own team (of who we don't know) and pretty much on the outs with Clark. And she's got that big twist we know nothing about. But if I hear anything major, I will certainly let you know now that I know you're interested. :)

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
On the outs with Clark? Why? (Although I do like the Watchtower storyline. That is one that I'm a fan of.)

And yes, please do keep me updated?

[personal profile] hero_farmboy 2009-08-27 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, well, the whole Doomsday disaster and Jimmy's death. And Clark's kind of decided the whole "emotions bad!" premise is the way to go. They also disagree on how to hero, apparently.

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Where Jimmy isn't Jimmy after all. Oooooh Smallville.

[personal profile] hero_farmboy 2009-08-27 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yep. He's his older brother.

There's also a crapton of DC characters showing up. OH. ZOD. ZOD. TESS AND ZOD. I'm only a little excited, as you can see.

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
See. Zod would get me to watch. Because. ZOD.

[personal profile] hero_farmboy 2009-08-27 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Younger Zod! Powerless Zod! Aristocratic, hates humans, stuck on Earth with a powerless half army Zod!

Yeah. He's a regular this season, actually. Cool English actor, too.

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
See, now that looks promising.

[personal profile] hero_farmboy 2009-08-27 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
It does! So who knows, maybe I can canon split for S8 and you'll want back in for S9? Who knows. I'm going to keep going with S7, since Clark's only half-way through that, and we'll see what's what when I'm ready to start S8, deal?

[identity profile] swordthatslices.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. We'll play it by ear, I guess?
hero_farmboy: (Default)

[personal profile] hero_farmboy 2009-08-27 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
It'll give you more time to think and S9 will have started, because there's no way I'm getting through the rest of S7 in a month, so you'll have more info by then, too.
